Good afternoon,
My name is Annie, I am over 60 and this is my life, messy, confusing and over half the time I have no idea what i am doing.
I am NOT tech savvy so it has taken me all morning just to set this up and I am still not sure that any one is even going to see it.
Just to give some background:
I am past 60, no where close to retirement, I am a widow, lost my husband a couple of years ago. I do have children that do not come & check on their mother at all. I have 4 step children that I have not heard since 6 months after their dad passed away.
I did take care of my husband full time and worked full time as well. I am a short woman 5’2″ and taking care of him and hardly ever leaving my home, I began to snack a lot, so I went from 135lbs to 175lbs when he passed.
I am still working on that one. I eat a lot better, snacking is to a minimum, and I just started walking. At first I was able to make it down my drive way then up to the corner then back and I was exhausted but now I can make it about 2 miles.
I have also tried yoga, they usually have free classes at the library. I did take 1 Pilates class at the library and it kicked my butt.
As for food,I do eat a big breakfast, 1 egg 1egg white, a 6oz smoothie with blue berries, 1/2 date tart cherries, kale or spinach protein powder, creatine powder and Kefir, then I have a 1/4 cup of oats with flax seeds, chia seeds and cinnamon. I do have 10 cup of coffee.
For lunch I have a salad (romaine lettuce, peppers, radishes, carrots, celery, onions mushrooms, tomatoes, little dressing & a little cheese sprinkled on top). then a 1/4 plain Greek yogurt with shaved dark chocolate and an 8 oz jar of fruit usually a kiwi & blackberries.
Dinner is usually fish or chicken (Baked) rice or quinoa and a couple of steamed veggies or roasted Brussels sprouts.
I am down to 158lbs., So I went from a size 14 to a size 12 and some size 10. I still have a BIG butt and I am trying some body weight exercises. My knees are bad so squatting is very painful, but I try every day.
Baby steps is all it takes to make a difference.
Have a wonderful afternoon. Bye for now, Annie.
