Today I read a post that got me thinking and it was called the Goal of Yoga. It talked about getting to know the version of you that is here right now and to stop treating yourself like a never-ending renovation project. That we need to accept ourselves, the part that is lost or tired, slightly impatient, sometimes wonderful or sometimes an absolute nightmare. Yes we can grow stronger and learn more and even want more. However, we can be a work in progress and still be a perfectly lovely place to live. We need to find beauty in the imperfection. Life is not perfect, nature is not perfect and we are not perfect.

I am always trying to change myself.I am not accepting of who I am, or what I look like. Reading that post today, did get me thinking about how I treat myself, talk to my self and how I talk about myself. How I look in the mirror and judge myself.

I do think of myself as a Never-ending renovation project.

BUT WHY? Part of this is the grown-ups that influence my behavior. My grandmother use to have money, then she lost it and had to come live with us, but she never left the house unless she was really dressed up, even to sit on the porch and have a cup of coffee she had to be dressed nice, hair and makeup done to perfection. No one in that household even came to breakfast in their PJ’s. If you came to breakfast, you had to completely dressed hair & make-up done. You had to hide every imperfection. I guess I am still carrying that, trying to figure out why and how to let it go.

I guess I am a work in progress. – Good Night.
